Many students of technical specialities in university impressed that Chemistry is a purely theoretical science not relevant to real life. This is a big challenge for chemical education. Visual aids such as laboratory collections were effective to persuade students and to form a belief that chemical knowledge is important. Some technical aspects of elaboration and design of visual aids (laboratory collections) are discussed in the article. The examples of the use of laboratory collections in teaching chemistry in technical university were given by the author.
