This article is devoted to the policy of the Soviet state regarding the Tatar national minority in 1939–1941 on the territory of Western Belarus, namely, the political repression of this group of the population. The author gives specific examples of the fate of representatives of local Tatars who were subject to arrests on various reasons. As a result of the research work carried out by the author, it was possible to identify about 70 people arrested and deported in 1939–1941 representatives of the Tatar population from the western regions of Belarus (or 1.5 %), which is about 0.04% of all repressed (about 160 thousand people) from the western regions of Belarus for the specified period. The author notes that the policy of the Soviet government towards the Tatar national minority in the territories attached to the BSSR in 1939 did not have a pronounced individual character.
