The scale of global environmental problems forced whole society of the Earth to put some more attention in it. In the run for development mankind didn't take care of the environment until last few decades. It took us some time to understand that development shouldn't be proceeded without taking into account global cost of it. It concerns every continent, country, region, town and even every single person. It also affects whole economy and the smallest part of it: the enterprise (plant or factory). Now it is an obligation for all the participants of the market to internalize the environmental costs. Eco- Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) are very effective and already checked instruments. And what is more important, as the practical examples show, the effect of performing the Eco - Management is not only to help to identify environmental dangers in such enterprises as cement plants and to eliminate them but also to make increase their competitiveness, to help them to reduce the costs and to gain bigger market share and higher credibility.
