| dc.abstract.alternative | The article investigates terminological word combinations in economic terminology of Modern English. The author analyzes both structural and semantic peculiarities and characteristics of the components of these means of nominating economic concepts. The definition of the term is given in the article. Approaches to term interpretation are described. The approaches offered deal with definitions made by Russian and Belarus scholars. The Author focuses on the structural peculiarities of term formation. Models of term formation are mentioned and described. Predominant ones are the models like: A + N, N + N, N’s + N, N + prep + N, Part I + N, Part II + N, Ger + N. The list of the models indicates to a broad set of instruments which serve as a basis for term formation. The source for the illustrative material is a selection of terms selected from the sphere of economy. One of the dominant sources terminology enrichment is the sphere of literary language. The units of this language acquire new meanings along with the sphere of functioning. Their semantics undergo changes within time. Analyzing the model of term formation N+Adj., we come to the conclusion that synonymic and antonymic relations are typical for it. Economy development and changes in different spheres of human activity increase changes in semantic of words. One of the tendencies in this context is term formation which is progressing due to semantic changes observed in the lexical units. | ru_RU |
