Przekształcenia obiektów sakralnych północno-wschodnich terenów Polski — obrazem poszanowania dziedzictwa kulturowego

Abstract

Transformation of temples in north - east part of Poland is the subject of research. The main point of the paper is to present selected examples of temples (mainly Protestant Churches) that had been transfigured after The Second World War, an appraisal of their current state of preservation, the outline of possible further way of proceeding with sacral buildings, in a context of escalating phenomenon of secularization of society. The article is also an attempt to answer the questions: if temples’ secularization is the only way to preserve them from destruction, or does it lead to their destroy? Is it allowed to handle places of worship as the other public buildings? How the sacral building should be treated to protect them from insulting.
