| dc.abstract.alternative | The book by Leonid Smilovitsky Censorship in Postwar Byelorussia: 1944–1956 has been publishedthis year (2015) in Jerusalem. The paper focuses on the novelty of the book which lies in the fact that as yet, there has been no analytical research dealing with the history of censorship in the
BSSR after the Second World War. The author of the monograph presented has revealed the forms, methods and distinguishing features of censorship
such as ideological, state, military, economic and departmental; has illustrated specific features of the work of the agents of the General Directorate for
the Protection of Military and State Secrets in the Press Bureau attached to the BSSR Council of Ministers, who acted in close collaboration with the
Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belorussia and the Ministry of State Security. A detailed analysis of the book is also presented. | ru_RU |
